Heartland Kansas Track Day : Tucker Rocky, a supplier to the Motorcycle Industry, held a track day at Heartland Racetrack in Topeka Kansas. Roadrace classess Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced participated. The day dawned very cloudy and after one session rain began to fall. Track speeds were quite impressive. Jeff and John Adam of Cycle & Marine Supercenter participated in the event with lots of fun and learning by all. With the conditions very dark and motorcycles at high speed, it made for challenging conditions for both the rider and the photographer. A special thanks to Tucker Rocky. Note: Someone made a comment that one of the riders pictured must be my brother, actually two of the riders are my sons. Neither one had ever been on a road course before but one won a National Championship Drag racing motorcycles and the other is a Pro Motocross racer and finished top ten in Arenacross, I'm the one who roadraced. Indy Mile : The first flat track at the Indianapolis facility in 9 years. Moto GP at INDY Sunday : Sunday action at Indianapolis Moto Gp 2008. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did taking them. These were some of the most challenging conditions for riders and photographers. The winds were gusting as high as 60 miles per hour and rain came down at times, as a result of Hurricane Ike, so hard it was difficult to see. The fences were set up for auto racing and were a challenge for both viewing and photography. The conditions were so bad the Moto GP race was red flagged after 20 laps and the 250 GP class was cancelled.

Arkansas Railroad Museum : History. The Arkansas Railroad Museum is in Pine Bluff Arkansas. One of the very interesting items is the 819. It was built in the same location that has now become a museum. Many more interesting cars and memorabilia. Enjoy your visit. The funds they recieve are all by donation. In April of every year they have a show and sale of model trains and enthusiasts from around the country show up to tell their tales. See you then.

The Cache & White River Flooding : Flooding in Arkansas has continued for over a month. These pictures are from along US Highway 64. The Cache River and the White River have overflowed their banks making what I call the Cache-White Lake area. Roads in the area have been washed out and others closed.

Clinton Arkansas Tornado February 6th 2008 : The deadly tornado aftermath in Clinton, Arkansas. Houses were totally destroyed as well as the Rivertrail Boat manufacturing plant. These pictures were taken the day after the tornado. The path of the tornado was 123 miles according to weather sources from Atkins northeast towards Clinton it it crossed hwy 95 then US 65 and hit the boat plant and continued along and across Hwy 16 as it went NE to Mountain View. Thanks for the great comments. It is most appreciated. If you have any info about any of the pictures posted, feel free to add your comment. Someone asked which photos were of the Rivertrail factory. IMG_16049 is looking at the building behind the trucks. the pictures following it are mostly of the plant until IMG_16077. After that is going back up the hill and then south on HWY 65.. .
